File name to Drawing Name

Recommended Posts

I remember when i was working in Singapore (not so long ago:wink:) when we save the CAD filename it automatically saves it in the Title Block. Thats why our Filename and Drawing Title are the same. I dont know if its a kind of Script or Lisp involve but anyone know how to go around this???

Please let me know. Thanks

Im not too sure if im in the proper section of the forum. if not kindly move the thread to where it belongs.

Try using Attributes and Fields. There may be a LISP around, have you searched?

Fields will work. I still use an old RText block that I created before fields were available.

Execute RText, type "D" for Diesel and paste the following in the popup window.

$(getvar, "dwgprefix")$(getvar, "dwgname"), $(getvar,ctab), $(getvar,"LOGINNAME"), $(edtime, 0, mon dd"," yyyy - H:MM:SSam/pm)

Never thought someone would complain about .dwg

Try this:

$(getvar, "dwgprefix")$(substr, $(getvar, "dwgname"), 1 , $(-, $(strlen, $(getvar, "dwgname")) , 4)), $(getvar,ctab), $(getvar,"LOGINNAME"), $(edtime, 0, mon dd"," yyyy - H:MM:SSam/pm)
