dumfatnhappy Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 and does it come with any equipment pre-built? Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Never even heard of Plant 3D...what is it? Quote
rob150588 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 We got a demo of Plant 3D about a year ago. It had some basic parts already built into it like a few generic pipes and plant. But nothing really useful. I suppose they were just the basics to allow you to create your own. We still use MEP for plant-type works, but its scheduling and tagging is not as refined. Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Did a little research on Plant 3D. Looks pretty cool, and IF it works like they say it does, it would be a good bit of software to have. As for predrawn equipment, it doesn't say anything about it other than a vague reference to a library. If it's like Revit or Architecture, it will have a few very generic pieces to give you an idea of what you need to do to draw your own. Quote
dumfatnhappy Posted February 26, 2011 Author Posted February 26, 2011 yeah well I was not impressed at all after downloading the trial.... couldn't find 1 pump (not sure I was looking where I needed to though either). The last 2 projects I worked on (using MEP) were both over a Billion in value. I love MEP even if I've barely begun to peel that onion! Quote
