gazcarr Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Hi I recently had to re install my copy of Autocad2008 so it has been stripped back to basics. Basically what I am after is I want to be able to click on a layer and see what layer it is on. I used to have a window on the title bar which would let me do this and I could then click into that window to change any layers. Unfortunately now I have to bring up the properties which is a pain. Does anybody know how to get that layer window back into my title bar? Thanks Quote
gazcarr Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 Thats my second problem I have no tools option in the title bar. Typing tools in the command line also does nothing. I have file, edit, view, insert, general, points, surfaces, parcels, grading, alignments, profiles, corridors, sections, pipes, window, acrobat markups, adobe pdf, express. Quote
Grant Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Type: menubar enter 1 enter This will put up the old menu Type Layer - and this will put up the layer dialog box Quote
ccowgill Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 the OP is using 08, there was no ribbon, so no menubar. try typing in CUI and then modify your current workspace to include the layer toolbar Quote
Grant Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Your right 08 didn't have that. But CUI may not do it either. It looks like they have there own menu. May need to use menuload and load in Acad.cui or maybe in 08 it was acad.mnu, acad.mns autocad keeps changing it. Quote

Not sure why Menuload doesn't work. Have you tried Options>Files>Customization Files and make sure you have a path to your Main Customization File. Quote
Sittingbull Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Have you made toolbars or profiles? Did you reinstall at the same location? SB Quote
