Security Engineer Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Based on a promotion, I now have AutoCAD 2010. I've been using TurboCAD 16 3D Deluxe. Is there anyone else who has experience with both programs, and could give me a few pointers as the making the trasition to AutoCAD. I've already completed my first project in AutoCAD, but it was frustrating trying to figure out all the things I can do in seconds in TurboCAD..... Quote

Is there anyone else who has experience with both programs, and could give me a few pointers as the making the trasition to AutoCAD. I've already completed my first project in AutoCAD, but it was frustrating trying to figure out all the things I can do in seconds in TurboCAD..... Not much TurboCAD talk on these boards that I've seen, but there are a few who use it. If you don't get a big response, just start asking "How do I...." questions and you'll get plenty of feedback to help you along in your transition. It's always a bit difficult to go from a comfortable and known way of doing things to a whole other way. Out of curiosity, why did your company decide on upgrading from TurboCAD to AutoCAD? I always say if it works, don't fix it. TurboCAD is a plenty capable CAD design package from what I can see. Quote
Security Engineer Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 It wasn't a company thing. We have a big CAD team, and have always used AutoCAD. I wasn't in a position to be permitted to have a copy, but did need to work up drawings from time to time (couple times a month) so instead of fighting about AutoCAD (pre license sharing) I just bought TurboCAD myself, and went about my business. Now I'm in a bigger role where I'm allowed/required AutoCAD, and attempting to get used to it. Fumbling my way through it is more accurate.......... Quote
