Is there anyway to modify the places list (the shortcut folders on the side of the open or save dialog boxes) using VBA or LISP

the places are stored here

(strcat "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\"
	     (vlax-product-key)
	     "\\Profiles\\"
	     (getvar "CPROFILE")
	     "\\Dialogs\\AllAnavDialogs"
     )

you can use vl-registry-* functions to modify them
