Coosbaylumber Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I am getting an error mesage on my Autocad system. Actually a couple of them. Says: Duplicate version of TCAD not recconised. Unsure of TCAD version. Duplicate version of TCAD ignored. And on and on... Such is what shows up after I then XREF a group of little drawings into a certain plan. Now have obtained a few wing ribs from someone last year, and they may have been done via Turbocad. I also have gone direct to the little drawing file, and to the TCAD web-site, and nothing.... Got any idea as how to remove the error message(s)? Wm. Quote
ReMark Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Hi Coos, long time no see. Just clear up one thing right at the beginning. Do you have a version of TurboCAD on your computer? Do you get the error message when trying to open a TurboCAD generated drawing file in AutoCAD? Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 Mark: A good 24 hours ago, got cut off here. Seem to be going again. I have a version four of TCad loaded on to one old H.D. Have not used it in years. Been mainly an Autocad customer as it configures to my Calcomp home plotter smack fast. The drawing(s) look to have been created in TCad back when, and I got to use them five days ago. I do not know the version of TCad once used for the little drawings, I think the owner or whoever made them up does not either. Wm. Quote
Rob-GB Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Coos, it maybe a problem from saving from a Tcad file to .dwg. I had similar problems when I had to go from Sketchup to Tcad to Acad some time ago. Could you open the file in your Tcad and save to a fresh .dwg? I know my Turbocad Deluxe 16 allows saving to many file types including SKP, PNG and DWG but some things don't transfer 100% across file formats. Rob. Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 Kent: The best that I can figure out right now due to dates is the file was done about the time Turbo version 14 was coming on to the market. The original designer may very well have gone through a few conversion programs to get there, but... Only thing bothering me at this point is that the linewok from TCAD either prints or it does not. Seems to e random here. If I can see the new work it will 50/50 print out OK. If I cannot see the TCAD files then 100% it will not print out. Rather random at this point. But, when they do show up I can do the usual stuff of moving them around and measuring off them etc. Wm. Quote
