berol Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Using Autocad 2000LT, Windows XP 1) One circle is inside the other circle, need to measure distance from the outside edge of one circle to the to the outside edge of the larger circle? 2) One circle inside the other circle, need to measure from the center of the larger circle to the nearest outside edge of the smaller circle? 3) Circles are near each other and need to measure from the outside edge of one circle to the outside edge of the other circle? Thanks for the help, Berol Quote
eldon Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I would draw lines where the measurements are needed, and then use the distance command on the line, or list it. Quote
ReMark Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Zoom in as close as you can to the two circles and use the Distance command (type DI at the command line). For accurate "picks" use OSNAPS of Center, Quadrant and Perpendicular. Quote
nestly Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 You didn't specify, but I'm assuming you want the closest distance between the circles? I don't remember if 2000 had deferred perpendicular OSNAP, but if not, I'd basically do it like eldon said using Center, Endpoint, and Intersection OSNAPS and the DIST command (although I used DIMALIGNED in the demo for clarity) Like this --> http://screencast.com/t/DQW7TIwvkyz Quote
