wrmurphy81 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Is it possible to hatch a vertical wall? i.e. a retaining wall or building wall? I tried to use orbit so I can see the bottom of the wall and the top of the wall, but hatch doesn't do it. Any ideas? Thanks! Quote
ReMark Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 It can be done in plain AutoCAD by redefining the origin of one's UCS and using a 3DFace. Not sure about Civil 3D though. Quote
Murph_map Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Is the wall a Civil3D object? What does the property palette list it as when you select it? Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 They are not C3D objects. I just have four lines. when i list them they simply say line. I tried to create a 3dpoly but the hatch doesnt recognize that boundary. Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 Does rendering have something to do with seeing the face? Quote
Murph_map Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Set your USC to the same plane and try it. Also make sure the visual style you are using shows hatch and the base point/scale of the hatch is in relation to the dwg scale/units. Quote
wrmurphy81 Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 it was the visual style. Wow, I just opened up something huge, I am going to blow the landscape architect away! Quote
