Pisces Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Help, please. I have lost my AutoCad R14 command prompt window. I somehow undocked it and now I cannot find it. F1 for Text Window works and that is what I am using for now. This happened before and I cannot remenber how I solved it. I have tried to find the missing "undocked" command window on the edges of the display without success. In preferences I have 9 as the number of lines to show in the command prompt window. Anyone have suggestions on how to recover a "undocked" and missing command prompt window? Quote
Pisces Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 CTRL+9 did not work. Where is that darn Command Prompt Window? Quote
SLW210 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Try changing your screen resolution, do not have your CAD window maximized and see if you can drag it back out from the bottom. Quote
rkmcswain Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Ctrl+9 was not an option in R14 because the command line was not a dockable palette in pre-2006 versions like it is now... I would try the screen resolution thing also. See: http://forums.augi.com/showpost.php?p=637145&postcount=5 Quote

The eyes see, but the brain refuses to acknowledge. Quote
Pisces Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 I've said it before and I will say it again- These Forums are Lifesavers! Changing the screen resolution did the trick. Thank you very much for the advice. Quote
nestly Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 (edited) Just for arguments sake, 2005 had a dockable command line palette that functions as it currently does, but Ctrl+9 wasn't it's toggle. http://screencast.com/t/zEiqXS48 Edited March 24, 2011 by nestly Quote
SLW210 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I used 2005 for a few months in 2004-5 and two weeks in December 2010, but several here use 2005, but I cannot view screencast from work. Do you mind giving me a hint, in case something comes up around here? Quote
nestly Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 The video doesn't provide any solution to the OP's problem, it only shows that our modern dockable command line window was available before 2006, and before Ctrl+9 was introduced as it's toggle. I was just nit-picking RK's reply Also, you should ask IT to unblock Screencast.com Quote
