3D HVAC to standard 2D by exploding and bursting

This question might seem extremely easy to some but I am having difficulties with it. I received a 3D Cad file created from Autocad MEP I beleive, and I would like to eliminate any 3D properties to it so I can work on it in a 2 line format. I am currently using AutoCad 2008. Is there a command to break/burst/explode the 3D drawing into a 2 line format so I can overlay the HVAC on top of my work?

Note: When I try to explode the 3D HVAC the response is "Cannot explode ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY"

Thanks for you help

It worked. I had to go to the support for AutoCad 2008 and then tools for AutoCad MEP.

Thanks you,

You just need to export the drawing to an AutoCAD 2000 format. It's easy.

Type -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD at the command line (don't forget the dash).

Export options [Format/Bind/bind Type/Maintain/Prefix/Suffix/?] : F

Enter file format [r14/2000/2004/2007] : 2000

Export options [Format/Bind/bind Type/Maintain/Prefix/Suffix/?] :

Export drawing name :

You can also use the AECTOACAD command also.
