designerstuart Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 anyone know of a way to select similar in sketchup? i know a few ways like select faces with similar materials etc, but is there anything like AutoCAD's qselect? what i want to do is select every instance of a component in the model, whether nested or not. and then delete them, if that's relevant. maybe the outliner is the tool to use, but not worked it out so far. boofredlay Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Wait no longer... ha ha ha. Actually I have not visited the site in months so I guess this is great timing. There is a ruby plugin that does what you want however it is only on components not groups. There is a thread at SketchUcation about it here: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=9810 The ruby script is in the first post of the thread. Just place it in your Plugins folder and restart SketchUp. C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 8\Plugins The command "Select Instances" will show up when you right click the component.
