MarkJesse Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Hi, I recently have obtain Autocad so I am new at this, I used another CAD package. My question: I have surveyed a plot of land, and have exported it out as a 3d plan drawing. Drawn and tided it up. because its been exported as 3d it has levels on all the points mark and lines. What I now need is to know how to put a mesh or I would say a table cloth over the drawing so that you can visibly see the contours of the land. Could you please help. Quote
marmo Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hello, Maybe this could be useful: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showth...-survey-points Quote
Tyke Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 What AutoCAD product have you got? If you have AutoCAD Civil 3D, then you have all the tools you need right there. If you have plain AutoCAD then marmo's solution would do the trick for you. Quote
MarkJesse Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 Thanks for the link, its what i needed, unfortunately I don't know the commands or the icons to use. Thanks for your help Quote
marmo Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hi, download the zip files referred to the images that interest you. Use command "appload" to load lisp routines and run them with related commands. For example, if You want triangulate your points, you need DTM lisp: 1 - with command "appload" load file "01_DTM.VLX". 2 - after write "DTM" on command prompt and follow the instructions. Into file "01_dtm_commands.txt" are explained others possible commands for this lisp. This procedure also applies to other lisp. Quote
MarkJesse Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 Hi I have used the appload command to upload the application for the meshing, and it loads it successfully, but when I'm writing in the command, it doesn't work, where am I going wrong please. Quote
marmo Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Strange, should work with autocad 2011. 1- load DTM.vlx 2- write "DTM" and choose the point cloud... Have you tried the DRAPE command ? Quote
