Glen1980
I thought something like that must have happened as the new file was a few kb smaller than the original.
dbroada
it used to be a quick way of purging drawings as the purge command needed to be run for each nesting level. It was sometimes the only way to recover corrupt files.
jaccna
but WBLOCK will strip all redundant information (in effect PURGE the drawing). You may want this but if you have set up blocks and layers in readiness for the next stage you will need to recreate them after the WBLOCK instruction. Yes it is a double edge sword, but I have a menu pick that inserts a blank template and cancels before insertion, thus reloading any of your lost blocks or layers etc.
nextvkin
How about this - go to file, open, then instead of opening, select the file, hold the ctrl key, you'll get an instant copy. Cancel out of it & you're still in your original drawing.
