I have a very confusing problem in which I cannot figure out. When I go to publish a set of drawings (.DWF) I receive an error message that says: "One or more drawings have unsaved changes. save the file so that a DSD file can be created". Then when I go into the file where the .DWF should be there is only a .DSD. I am stumped, until now I had never heard of a DSD file, so i am not sure where I go to turn this off. I have also found no answers with a google search.

I have attached a screenshot of my publishing settings.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Where is your screenshot?

DSD file (Drawing Set Description) describes a drawing set published to the DWF format (see Design Publishing Extension).

Still looking for my answer, I tried reinstalling autocad hoping that it would reset the settings, but still it gives me that pop up and will not publish a .DWF only DSD.

Personally when I publish files I don't create the DSD file, it is only there so you can re-publish the same files quickly.

Does the pop up box appear after you start the publish? You are set to give the dwf file a name and the dialogue box may be hidden somewhere.
