visith Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Hi everybody, can some one tell me how to make my own hatch pattern? For example I have drawn a 2D house and I want to hatch the roof with pattern I made my self but this pattern does not have in Auto CAD. What can I do? I've read Auto CAD help and they talk about *.pat file, what is it? and what program do we use to make this file? Thanks if any one can help... Quote
ReMark Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 It would be very helpful if you told us what version of AutoCAD you are using. Some of the later versions had a SuperHatch command as part of Express Tools that you might find useful. Acad.pat is the AutoCAD hatch pattern file where all the default hatch patterns are stored. Users can either add to this file (some people will recommend that you NOT do this) or create a totally separate .pat file for their custom hatch patterns. Ralph Grabowski wrote a multi-part article about creating custom hatch patterns that a search of the Internet is sure to find. You should also check out Similar Threads listed below. Quote
SLW210 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Try this hatch pattern generator, I have not tried it, but it comes from a great source. If it works for you come back here and let me know how it worked. Quote
