redbeardcad Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Is there such a thing that can change drawing units to the correct scale? Here's what I mean. I am tasked with keeping all our facility drawings up to date. I get civil drawings in for site work, architectural drawings for our buildings and mechanical drawing for all our production machines. As things change or move I am supposed to update drawings. The big boys (and girls) upstairs want to see a drawing that "has it all". "Afterall don't you just click a few buttons?" So civil is decimal feet, building is feet and inches, and most machines are metric. My back ground is construction so dealing in feet-inches is easy for me. I only do this part time so I am not a CAD wizard. I'm getting very frustrated, and need to go to the gym to punch some one, I mean thing. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. Quote
nestly Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Do you need to convert each drawing so they all use the same unit of measurement, because if not, it's simply a matter of xreffing them together. For example, if your metric machine drawing is designated as metric, and you xref it into an imperial drawing, it will automatically be scaled properly and when you measure or dimension the machine, the dimension will be imperial. SLW210 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Have you tried _UNITS>Insertion Scale>Units to scale inserted content? Quote
