Tyke Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Rubber sheeting is when you take an object and transform it onto a set of control points (or monuments) and stretch it in various directions and by varying amounts. This is similar to an affine transformation as oppose to a Helmert transformation. Because it stretches the object it can compromise accuracy and should therefore be used with extreme care. It is mostly used for bitmaps or images not vector data. Organic Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Hi all, what is the difference between cross section & L-section. Long section shows the alignment profile and typically includes chainages and the natural surface and design surfaces associated with those. Cross sections show details at a specific chainage along the long section. I.e. in a road you will have cross sections showing the the view across the road (as if you cut a slice) at regular chainage intervals and any other points of interest. Quote
