vertical horizons Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I used 'Place Component" to place an .IAM into another .IAM. All of the colors that I had placed into the subassembly are not in the larger assembly. When I look at the subassembly in its' own path, the colors are still there. Is there a setting to prevent this from happening? Also, if I turn off a workplane in the subassembly, sometimes it shows up in the larger assembly visible. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Lazer Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 When you make a part you can select what material you want it to be this has a preset colour, you can change this in the drop down menu but this will change just the colour, it will always remember the material. In an .IAM select as masterial and it should change them back to the parts colour. Use CTRL and } to turn on and off workplanes quickly. Quote
JD Mather Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Change the color at the part level rather than the assembly level (unless you want to represent "painting after assembled". Quote
