That KB article always seemed weird to me, the way it says it's caused by a graphics card that doesn't support the 3GB switch... It would also happen on a 64-bit OS. But only in the 2009 release... In the 2010 release, it works fine on the same hardware.

I wonder if the solution actually works, sounds like just more 2009 bugs to me.

i do have a 64-bit system but installed cad to run on a 32-bit, plus i have tried turning the 3GB switch on and off with still no avail

The 3GB switch only exists on 32-bit Windows.

Unfortunately, I know of no workaround for this issue on 64-bit machines, other than to upgrade to 2010 or later. I was on C3D 2009 when I switched to a 64-bit OS, and I ran into this problem. But I was the first one to move to a 64-bit OS, so I would just have my co-worker (on XP x86) do the MAPIINSERT for me. It was only a problem for me for a little while, then we upgraded to 2010 and the problem was fixed.

AFAIK these seem to be the only solutions available, either

1. Upgrade

2. Do the MAPIINSERT on another machine.

3. Continue searching for a solution/workaround.

4. Downgrade

P.S.

Have you installed the latest updates? Maybe removing any updates will fix-it?
