When I pull up the Layer Properties Manager, the configuration is different from what I've seen before and from what appears in my Harnessing AutoCAD 2004 reference. I'd have to say it's abbreviated, if that makes any sense.

The title in the upper right corner says Layer Manager as opposed to Layer Properties Manager for one thing. There's no Details section at the bottom of the box ... no set of choice boxes in the upper right corner for New, Delete, Current etc. ...

It's all been condensed. I can manage the layers, but I know I've seen the larger configuration (the full Layer Properties Manager box) on my screen before.

So what's up. I've been searching for the fix, but I can't find it !!

How are you opening the Layer Properties Manager? Try _LAYER on the command line. Is it an Express Tool in 2004?

I typically select the icon from the toolbar, but I get the same style box regardless of the method of selection ... icon, command line or selecting layer from the format menu.

As I said ... everything works, but I've accessed the Layer Properties Manager box before. Now it's just ... vanished.

Just a mystery that I bet has an explanation ... yet to be uncovered.

I must admit I don't know if it's an Express Tool or not.

Can you post a screen shot of what happens when you input _LAYER on the command line?

Attempting to do so ...

I couldn't figure out how to make it appear in the post window, but opening the attachment works ...
