TTSchiller Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 We use AutoCAD Architecture 2011 but we do not use the Architecture tools. We use it like basic AutoCAD. We need to pass files back and forth with a client in Asia that needs it saved down to 2004. Has anyone experienced any issues with this? Quote
Tyke Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 We do a lot of saving to previous versions of AutoCAD and experience no problems whatsoever. We have saved down from AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 to AutoCAD 2000 in the last couple of weeks and the client has report no problems with the files. Quote
designerstuart Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 we have many different users on 2008, 2009 and 2010 and all save down to 2007 version, removing all problems. although one problem persists, that won't affect you, is that special ADT elements like walls, when saved in 2010, even as 2007 version, ****** up. edit: (wow, automatic censoring of the noun derivative of verb 'to bug' - we are prim here!) Glen1980 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 We save as 2010 here and use the ETRANSMIT command to automatically save down, plus it can bind xrefs or just repath the file to the zip folder so you don't send drawings with large missing areas. Quote
SLW210 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I save to AutoCAD 2004 version here since everyone else is on AutoCAD 2005. I have only noticed a problem with multileaders being placed on a new layer (AutoCAD names it) when opened in AutoCAD 2005, which can cause them to be frozen (therefore not seen) in viewports. There may be other problems, that is the only one my boss has brought to my attention. Quote
