Mostly Nice Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 (edited) I'm trying to replicate a simple process of drawing a rectangle & offsetting it outside by 2mm. After this process, i draw 2 lines from the bottom left hand edge and the top right hand edge at 45degrees, then filleting the two to create an isometric offset. I then fill the area with a soild hatch, making the entire boxing red. (See image below) In short: The attached .png van be replicated with a lisp routine, at what difficulty or cost will it be to me? Regards, Nice, Mostly. Edited May 17, 2011 by Mostly Nice Quote
Guest kruuger Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 maybe make a block with attribute ? kruuger Quote
alanjt Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 maybe make a block with attribute ? kruuger Agreed. A attributed dynamic block with a stretch parameter would be the easiest and most sensible option. I see no need for coding this. Quote

Agree, I would visualize something like the following: Sadly, I cannot post the drawing since I am using a Student Version EDIT: Looking at the GIF, I would move the basepoint to the bottom-left corner of the inner rectangle Quote

Mostly Nice Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 Wow, impressive responses! I had no idea you could do this with a block, I'd made a genertic one where the end numbers only change... but this is incredible. Thank you, gents. Quote

alanjt Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Now what if i wanted multiline text? Same thing, apply a stretch parameter (look at Lee's example to fit the box nicely around the text. Quote
Mostly Nice Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 The information in these boxes is generally for people attention, and the notes differ from job to job. Therefore, i dont think i can get what i want, or make the proces easier using an attribute Quote

Mostly Nice Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 Again, multiline attribute will be a new thing to me also. Thanks for all the input Quote
