pumplady Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I have 2 lines both 80' long, 1 in the x axis and 1 in the y axis. The objects are in model space and dimensioned in paper space. Both lines dimension 80', but when printed out, the line in the x axis is not printing to scale. It is printing about 1' smaller. I have double checked the Viewport and remade the VP, checked the dimension and made sure it is snapping to the endpoints of the line. These lines are not blocks, and i have redrawn the lines. The y axis line is scaling correctly. I thought maybe it was a printer issue, but I picked a another random set of drawings and reproduced the lines. When printed, they scale correctly. I am using AutoCAD 2009 Any ideas what is going on or how to fix this? Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 The line that is dimensioning one foot shorter is not completely flat. That might be one explanation. Quote
pumplady Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 checked that as well (should have included that in the original post). The lines are flat. Quote
CyberAngel Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Your profile says Civil 3D. Is it possible that there is some vertical exaggeration? Are these lines connected to a profile? Also, if they're dimensioned in paper space, shouldn't the shorter line have a reduced dimension length? If it does, the problem is in model space. If it doesn't, the problem is somewhere else. Quote
ThrashMetal Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 thats just weird:?..if its the settings the then both lines should be affected, thats just really weird, do you mind if we can see the file, im just so curious with this one since i also dimension at the paperspace. Quote
pumplady Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Thanks for the suggestions. I have figured it out sort of.. The CAD operator who worked on this job is using 2011 AutoCAD LT. I remade the file and the drawing is correct. I think there is a bug in the file. Quote
