Openantics Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Is it possible to extract the position data from a single contour? I need to the position for each vertex along a single elevation. I have tried using MAPEXPORT to create a shape file with an assc attribute file but no luck. tia Quote
Nardino Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Hello tia, I have some lsp code that I came across a while back in one of the forums and it works fine for extrancting the x and y coordinates of a polyline. I would like for you to have it, but I have never posted any code in here and I do not know how to do it. Maybe I can send it to you by email?? Nardino Quote

BIGAL Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 You have to convert your contour lines to plines it in the surfaces menu I think its utility option not in CIV3d at moment. Then run above. Theres lots of pline point routines if the one above does not meet requirements search here. Quote
sinc Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I don't really understand what you're trying to do and why, but if you have a C3D Surface that is displaying contours, you can select the Surface (which will cause the Surface context menu to display in the Ribbon), then select "Extract Objects" from the Surface Tools panel in the Ribbon. This will create elevated polylines from your Surface. Quote

Points -> Create Points - Miscellaneous -> Polyline Verticies. now i can export the points list. voila. SOLVED Quote
