chrismof3330 Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 Think I may have entered this post into the wrong forum if any one could help. I am using Autocad MEP2009. Could anyone advise me how I get the sprinkler block to be able to insert in my drawing Quote
Lee Roy Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 It inserts on a face, I believe. In which case, you need to use a ceiling plan with the ceilings visible. You can also use a floor slab and set an offset for the desired height. Quote
chrismof3330 Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 Thanks for the reply I have set a ceiling into the drawing and gone into mechcanical equipment and opened the fire protection dialog box to the part where the sprinkler is but there doesnt seem to be anywhere in the dialog box to insert the sprinkler head into the drawing dont know if you could help with this. Thanks Chris Quote
Lee Roy Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Now that I'm not in front my Revit...I believe it's in the Home tab, Plumbing Fixtures, Fire Protection Sprinkler... Quote
Ollie8974 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Copy the block, then paste it in the drawing, off to the side where it will not show in any views. Now copy and paste into position on the drawing. That is the quick and dirty method. The proper procedure would is to add the block to a tool palette. Adding the block to a tool palette. the block will always be available for use in future drawings. Quote
tzframpton Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 We also have a specific AutoCAD MEP forum on this board for future posts that are related. Quote
Lee Roy Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Home : Plumbing & Piping : Sprinkler That's where you select to put the component in your drawing. It isn't plane-based, it's level-based. If you can't see it in your drawing, change your offset in your properties to a positive number. Edit: Crap, I totally missed the fact you're on 2009...I've been giving instructions from 2012. Quote
Lee Roy Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Wait wait wait ... are you using AutoCAD or Revit? This is the Revit forum. If AutoCAD, this is the wrong forum and I need to delete my responses. Quote
