kcaparella Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Hi all, I'm currently working on a project where we have (or are supposed to have) all of our files xref'd in. Somehow when working with the files we have accidentally converted all of our xrefs to blocks (by which process i am unsure). My boss would now like for me to go back through and re-xref the files in but I keep getting "** Error: "MAIN-TB" is already a standard block in the current drawing. *Invalid*". I've attempted a purge but was unsuccessful in my attempt I guess because I'm still getting the error. I guess what I need to do is delete the blocks out of the drawing? but how do i do that? I know this is a newbie question, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped. Thanks, -kcaparella Quote
RobDraw Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 You need to erase the XREFs that have been converted to blocks and then purge. You should then be able to re-XREF the files. Quote
designerstuart Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 it sounds like you have bound your xrefs (right click in xref manager, bind...) which turns them into blocks. you cannot have a block and an xref in a drawing with the same name, so that's why it says "....is already a standard block" when you try to add the xref. rename or delete the blocks as mentioned above, and reattach.
