KATIE0801 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 hi - i have a title block in the layout tab which i use for all new docs. when starting a new drawing i open my old one, delete the drawings and save it with a new name - this way i always have my title block how i want it in the Layout 1 tab. this has worked for me so far. but now I need to create an A3 print out. i have created the picture that i need in modelspace but when i click in the viewport within the layout and select the scale that I have been asked to use, the pic becomes too big for the page. when i go into page setup i can select a3 and preview this but it just shows my a4 page in the middle of an a3 page. so how to i make the titleblock and viewport bigger (to fit a3)? daft vader Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 hi - i have created the picture that i need in modelspace but when i click in the viewport within the layout and select the scale that I have been asked to use, the pic becomes too big for the page. then your scale is to big for your paper size start again using a A3 template remove the the title block from the template and then just copy your title block from your A4 paste it into your new A3 template then just select it again and scale it to the correct size, once you are happy save out the template for future use, job done. Your viewport is likely just a polyline, so when you're in Paperspace, you can just edit it like any other rectangle to make it bigger and center it on the paper. If your title block is a block, you could just scale it, but most likely the proportions won't work out. I would just edit the titleblock to make the border larger so it nearly fills your new A3 viewport. Post the drawing if you want, since that's usually the best way to get the most specific help. BIGAL Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 If your going to do both A4 &A3 then why not have both setup in a DWT drawing template then you can choose depending on job type its just a pick and delete to remove a layout tab, our surveyor has to produce around 5 title sheets all different for a project so he has everyone he ever uses about 12 in his DWT.
