DonovanPorter Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 hi guys and gals i want to match properties from one multi text to many others , but i dont want to change the rotation to suite the source .... any ideas Quote
Bogbadbob658 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I'm not aware of any way of using match properties and being selective on which properties it assigns. All I can suggest is you try selecting the text then change the properties in the properties box. So long as you don't change the orientation it will remain as original. Quote
Ollie8974 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Open the Multiline text box and format the properties you want to change. Quote
Tyke Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Open the Multiline text box and format the properties you want to change. But surely that will only change the selected MTEXT. A LISP or VBA could certainly do the job, perhaps something to keep Lee amused over the weekend  (or even Renderman in VB.NET) Quote
RobDraw Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Select all the text that you want to change with whatever method you like. Then you can use the properties box to change only the properties that need to be changed. Quote
Organic Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 It is possible as I've done it myself before using a lisp. I can't recall the name of the lisp, althoguh there is a fully featured one out there that can do this. Quote
Murph_map Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Select all the text that you want to change with whatever method you like. Then you can use the properties box to change only the properties that need to be changed. Agree, or use the settings option with match properties and uncheck the text. Quote
Organic Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I never knew you could edit the settings of the match properties command! Quote
Murph_map Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I never knew you could edit the settings of the match properties command! One of the main reasons to keep the command line/prompt window open and READING it. Quote
BlackBox Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 A LISP or VBA could certainly do the job, perhaps something to keep Lee amused over the weekend  (or even Renderman in VB.NET) To be included in the same sentance as Lee, in regard to helping others with programming, is mighty kind of you Tyke. (^^ Although, I don't know if Lee will appreciate the demotion! LoL ^^) I would offer to help, but I *believe* Lee already has this one covered with his Match Text Properties utility. Thanks for the compliment, none-the-less. Cheers! Quote
