peccy Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Hi I need to find some decent software that will convert a pdf back into dwg. I know there are lots of different programmes out there that will do it but I have no idea where to start. What I would ideally be looking for is one that will take the pdf and return it to its original dwg state, layers, polylines, text etc. The computer that it will be installed on is running Windows XP 64bit and AutoCAD 2008. Thanks in advance Quote

f700es Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Huh, I really don't think that is possible, that is to it's original state. How would the software know how it was in it's original state? Now you can convert a PDF back to an editable dwg file, no problem there. If the PDF still has the CAD layers you might be able to retrieve those but the rest might not happen. Quote
ReMark Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I think you'll be disappointed in whatever you do find. PDFs were never meant to be a bridge to a CAD drawing and as such the conversion process will lack much of what you seek. Quote
nestly Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 There are many PDF to DWG/DXF converters, however the accuracy depends on how the PDF was created. Rasters will be basically worthless, but the geometry in vector PDFs should convert back with relatively good accuracy. I haven't ever tried one of these converters, and I'm not endorsing this one, but here's one example. http://www.visual-integrity.com/scalable-pdf.htm Quote
