dirtlegg Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I have seven tif files (usgs quads)inserted into a 2002 dwg file. I cannot zoom or pan or do anything because it keeps processing the images after every press of a button. Is there anything I can do...tell cad to stop regenerating the images? Quote
BOB'27T Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Try setting REGENMODE to "0" to turn off auto regen. Quote
GhostRider Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 not sure, but the regenauto mode set to off may help. REGENAUTO set to 0 is off Quote
dirtlegg Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 setting regen to 0 doesn't do it. it has to do with processing the images every time there is movement in the dwg. Almost like it wants to reload them each time. Quote
GhostRider Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 oooh there TIFF images, I didn't read that clearly in your post, they must be large images, sorry nothing comes to mind at the moment Quote
rustysilo Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 If you can work with them unloaded, unload them. Then turn them on when you need them. Otherwise increase your RAM or get a faster computer... Another option is to convert the tiff's to .jpg's or .png's and then re-insert, but you will still have to deal with it, just maybe not as bad... Quote
dirtlegg Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 thanks......unfortunately I often times have to deal with this and don;t see us getting new computers or increasing the ram anytime soon. Quote
rustysilo Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Understandable. I would give the file conversion a shot then. I like to use .png when I do that sort of thing, but a .jpg might be even better (for speed anyway). Sometimes I'll go to the usgs seamless site for imagery as it allows you to slice out an area rather than using the complete quads, doqq's, etc. It can help sometimes if they have the data you need. fuccaro Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Try to change the SHADEMODE sysvar. As I remember, the images are displayed only if SHADEMODE is 2D. Quote
