creating plenum box as a parametric part

I want to create a parametric part, which is a simple rectangular box and I want duct connections from every surface and I want it to be parametric because I want it to have the shape of the part that is connected. But I have never done a parametric part I check the book but it just shows elbow creating.

 

Can anyone help?. Tutorials or videos would be perfect as a source but I couldnt find.

Why not just use a normal Duct instead? That's what a plenum is after all, sheet metal ductwork. You could even create a Duct System with it's own parameters and whatnot for better control overall.
