tzframpton Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Here's what I'm trying to do. 1. Create a layer that is Color 250. 2. Create a Plot Style that can have the true color 255,255,255 set. It seems I can only use the 255 default AutoCAD index color palette. I would like to have some solid filled hatches to be the physical color 250 in the drawing, but I want these objects on a layer that plots the true color 255,255,255. The reason, is because I want to use these solid filled hatches as a mask. Wipeout sucks, so I'm not going to use that as an alternative. I just don't want these solid filled hatches to be white. I can live with it, and it's working fantastic for the use I need but am just trying to see if this option is available. Thanks in advance. Quote
rkent Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 I do something similar but I have a plot style name Black 0% and have the screening set to 0. Any layer or object with that plot style name will wipeout the area, provided that the merge control is set to Lines Overwrite. The other way is to set the layer color to 255,255,255 and use any plot style name. When you say you can only use 255 color palette, you mean in the layer manager or setting the color of the object itself? Quote
tzframpton Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 rkent that is genius!! That works a heck of a lot better than doing it my method. I can just name that Plot Style "Mask" and be done with it. And I meant while in the Plot Style editor, I could only choose Colors 1-255 from the default index color tab. If I went to the true color tab, and tried to pick a RGB color, it would not take once I hit Okay from the dialog box. Quote
rkent Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Glad that you like it and it works for you, gotta love stb. I tried the 255,255,255 color and could not get it to keep it either, it would keep 254, 255,255 and lots of other combinations but not the all 255 one. Quote
tzframpton Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 ....gotta love stb. Yeah, I'm telling you man, STB is the way to go. I just can't even have a thought of going back to CTB, honestly. Quote
