2012 array command. How do I get the option dailogue box to default

In 2012 when I select the array command I no longer get the dialoge box and have top enter parameters @ the command line. How do I get commands to default to theor option dialogue boxes.

There is no longer a dialog box for array. Using -Array will get you a simplified command line version. Users have reported replacing two files from 2011 with 2012 files to get a dialog back.

 

The problem with that is you will miss out on the powerful new features 2012 array brings to the table. The command line is easy and you will see on screen dynamically what you are inputing.

Ok. I don't use the ribbon, but I've found some of the new array functions would be quite useful. Has anyone done a good online tutorial on these functions?

No Ribbon necessary, the associated array can be edited from grips and from Properties.

 

I went to youtube and searched "2012 array" lots of videos appear.

Strange that there is no way to get the classic ARRAY dialog box back. They changed the HATCH command as well yet, if I am not mistaken, there is a way to bring the old dialog box back for this command. Wonder why?

Yeah, I've only played with 2012 a little bit, and while the new associative arrays are cool, I don't like not having the familar array dialog for regular arrays. Some smart person needs to figure out how use the 2011 arx files in conjunction with the new 2012 array arx's

Yeah, paying for a 3rd party add-on that's new and fancy is one way to go, but I think what most users would really like is to have access to the familiar and efficient basic array dialog.

Nestly. It's obvious you are not a programmer at AutoDesk where the words "familiar" and "efficient" are not necessarily given high priority when it comes to redesigning the software.

lol, ahhh, the r13 curse lol ..... I hate it when autodesk flip flops on there own command structures, like when they introduced the rev cloud command in i think release 2002? and then in 2004 got rid of it then in 2005 added it again ...... I do not have kind words regarding them and this lowbrow practice ......

Thanks for the replies. I did see the classic array app as I Blog nauseum was one of the first sites I went to for info. I think I'll like to get a handle on the new array as it seems to offer some nice options. Will check out the videos available. Though Autodesk's help has gotten much better, throughout the years I've found 3rd party books to be much clearer to me.
