skimar Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I need to design a walking track 1 mile (5280 feet) from a starting point and finishing at the same point. I need to go around buildings, ponds, etc. What is the best way to tackle this? I thought about 16 splines at 330', but as soon as the spline is moved the distance changes. Any suggestions? Quote
rkent Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I think a little trial and error will be the only way. Draw your first path with plines, then use pedit, spline, then use properties tolist the length, re-draw larger or smaller, to get it close, finally use the grips to get it exact, or really close. CyberAngel Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Here's a suggestion: create a set of arcs and lines with fixed lengths so that their lengths total 5280 feet. Arrange them as desired. Tweak as necessary. Join them together as a polyline. Quote
