DANIEL Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 So, I have finally gotten my slave drivers to push the PO through and have finally recieved my AutoCAD upgrades. Now that I have it installed and am actually working with it I'd have to say that it looks like a rather solid deployment by autodesk. I even got autocad classic. what has everyone elses impressions been so far? Quote
rkent Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 It has been crash happy, more so this past week. I am suspecting the Windows updates from last Tuesday have something to do with it. Quote

DANIEL Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 Cindy, you might consider posting a thread regarding this here .... http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?66-AutoCAD-Bugs-Error-Messages-amp-Quirks .... as your question might not get handled in this thread/forum. I am not encountering this issue however. Quote
DANIEL Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 I guess there arn't alot of people who have upgraded to 2012 yet? Quote
nestly Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 From the day it was released, reports of bugs immerged here and at every other AutoCAD forum. That's not really unusual for a new release, but I decided to wait until the first Service Pack (Update) was released. However, curiosity got the better of me and I installed it anyway, but it turns out my caution was warranted as 2012 crashed more on the first day I used it than 2011 did in the last year. I'll use 2012 occasionally when I'm not pressed for time, but I'm still waiting for an Update before I try to use it for regular use. Quote
DANIEL Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 I havnt had any problems, is your problem the same as rkents? Do you have your windows automatic updates turned on? Quote
SLW210 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I guess there arn't alot of people who have upgraded to 2012 yet? I haven't upgraded, but the company has just hired a new engineer that has 2012 being installed on XP. He is already complaining, but has IT looking into a Computer or graphics card problem for now. Hopefully that is it. I will give an update if his problems continue. Quote
DANIEL Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 usually I'm the one doing all the complaining lol Quote
nestly Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I havnt had any problems, is your problem the same as rkents? Do you have your windows automatic updates turned on? As I said, it was several weeks ago that I installed 2012 and experienced many crashes/freezes, so no, it wouldn't be related to the recent Windows Updates rkent referenced. Yes, I have Automatic Update checking turned on, but not Automatic Update installation... I do that manually approximately once per week. There are always Service Packs, which is an acknowledgment that there were bugs in the original product. Quote
DANIEL Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 you might see if turning your automatic update checking off helps. not that i dont think they need such a bug corrected lol. Quote
Organic Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 What problems are you having Nestly/where does it crash? Quote

I worked with 2010 version and now I have new job where they use 2012 MEP , so I have no idea even how to make new layer. I'm used with the clasical view and 2012 MEP don't allow this or I dont know where to find it . If anyone have some useful info I will be grateful Quote

Oppie Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I'm using AutoCAD 2012 since it came out. I only update Windows when a SP comes out! When I run AutoCAD I switch off the anti virus real time scanning. Then AutoCAD 2012 is very stable. No complanes yet Quote
