Dana W Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I'm using AutoCAD 2012 since it came out. I only update Windows when a SP comes out! When I run AutoCAD I switch off the anti virus real time scanning. Then AutoCAD 2012 is very stable. No complanes yet I'm only running 2009 LT, but add your 2012 to your security software's exceptions list, if it has that feature. Look in the settings portion of the AV main concole. My internet security software, Trend Micro, lets me tell it which programs not to mess with. On day one, I hadda tell it to lay off my LT because TM would just phaser it from time to time. Ocassionally it would warn me, but sometimes not, and I was never offered any choice. It would just kill it, in cold blood, and then make a log entry. Quote
Dana W Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Clasic view will be something like early cristmas gift.I worked with 2010 version and now I have new job where they use 2012 MEP , so I have no idea even how to make new layer. I'm used with the clasical view and 2012 MEP don't allow this or I dont know where to find it . If anyone have some useful info I will be grateful as far as I know it's only available in vanilla autocad Dunno what 2012 MEP looks like, but it took me a while to find the layer properties manager on the infamous ribbon in my 2009 LT. Try this > CLick Home on the menu bar to open, I guess, the Home ribbon tiles if they are not already displayed. The left part of the Layers Tile that says Layer Properties is actually a button. If you click it, it will open the layer properties manager so you can make a new layer. Pin it so you will have time to roll over the thing long enough to use it. If it's not there, maybe Daniel is right. Or maybe try F1 Layer properties manager. Quote
Bill Tillman Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Been running AutoCAD 2012 x64 for several months now on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and can't recall it ever freezing up on me yet. Rock solid performance as far as I'm concerened for now. I immediately turned on AutoCAD classic view. The Ribbon is nice, but I just prefer to have the screen look like my old versions and not take up what I see is valuable space. I don't have automatic updates turned on for Windows. Quote
SuperCAD Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I downloaded a trial copy of 2012, and I honestly wasn't impressed. So far the ability to dimension a solid object and have the dimensions follow a size change have proven to be lies. Quote
Rubbersnow Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 found it . just in front of my eyes . thank you very much Quote
