Hey,

Is there anyway to break a leader so they can run through other objects without crossing directly into them. I try to use break in the modify drop down box but the leader is not an object but a block. Any help would be great. Currently, I explode the leader and move the lines (annoying).

You can use the DIMBREAK command if you are using Multileaders. QLeaders will not work.

Wouldn't a mask work as well? Just asking for my own information.

Dimbreaks are smarter in that they'll automatically adjust when you move either the dimension with the break, or the breaking object.

Just tried this, worked great! Does the same thing NOT work on a QLEADER?

I don't use dimensions very much on a daily basis but it doesn't hurt to know. Thanks in advance.

QLeaders are a thing of the past and need to simply be phased out of AutoCAD's core, personally. Just my $0.02 is all. :)

Yeah I find myself doing this except I EXPLODE then BREAK. I assume DIMBREAK is something used in later versions of ACAD than what I have as it gives me an unknown command when I try to use it and considering we use leaders all the time it would be a really hand feature to have.

EDIT: I say 'what I have' meaning at work, got 2011 and 2012 at home which kills me that I can't use it here :/

I am more interested in breaks for multileaders on objects. Dimbreak kinda works for them but not so well. For instance, say i have a leader going through a rectangle and want to break it so there is no line inside the rectangle and do dimbreak. It breaks off the outside of the rectangle but leaves a little line inside of it still.

I'm having trouble imagining your concern. Can you post a screenshot?

Also, DIMBREAK has a "Manual" option to break at userdefined points, rather than automacally centering the break on the breaking object.
