Organic Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Upload the Excel spreadsheet somewhere and put a link to it here so we can have a look at it. I believe with a lot of work it is possible. Ideally you want AutoCad Civil 3D more so though. Your post is also rather unprofessional given the lack of capitalization where appropriate, grammar and general care taken in it in my opinion. Quote

There is nothing more discouraging or more discourteous to the OP than being a grammar grouch in the first reply. You are only allowed to be a grammar grouch when you are aged 80 plus - but you may already be there Quote

He is a professional surveyor and should act as such in my opinion. Quote
eldon Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 As he comes from India, you should be tolerant, as English might not be his first language. The meaning of his request comes over very well, but it is curious that he should choose to post in the Chat section of the Forum. Quote
Organic Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 This thread may of some use to the OP: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?57274-How-can-I-plot-L-section-and-X-sections-of-Road-or-Canal Quote

BIGAL Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Like Dink87522 its not that hard if your an engineer then maths should no be a problem as per his extra link post I know I have a long and cross routine but for copyright reasons can not paste here. Any way how to do it and using excel is probably a good way in a long section you have two values a chainage and a rl choose a datum rl the the length of the lines is just scale * (rl-datum) start line is ch,Rl end is ch,new Rl in autocad this is line 100,60 100,92.354 then line 110,60 110,96.687 and so on top line is just line 100,92.354 110,96.687 120,94.567 130,96.666 and so on. Now to make it work you can have a excel with a single line per what is to be typed Line 100,92.354 110,96.687 120,94.567 130,96.666 Note blank line on end this is a press Enter You can copy and paste a column from excel directly to the Autocad command line. Experiment with the script command copy the example and saves as test.scr then in Autocad Script test Quote

SLW210 Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I don't find one of my post in this tread: "How can I plot L section and X sections of Road or Canal" There are three attachments: Your posts in the other thread were deleted, because you posted in an old thread. I didn't delete them, but you really should create new threads. Quote
