nidhi singhania Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 When ever i take print from a particular file, i get 'Project Education......' on all the four sides of the page. Is there some method to remove it!!!
nestly Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 t means some or all of the content in that drawing was created with a free Autodesk Educational product not intended for commercial purposes. Unless you can prove otherwise, you're out of luck, because you can't remove it. Also, don't attempt to copy or re-use ANYTHING from that drawing in any other drawings, or those drawings will also be permanently marked with the Educational version plotstamp.
nidhi singhania Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Ohhh........ Did'nt know that. Thanks
nidhi singhania Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Is there a method for us to save our files in the same manner???
acadesign09 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 All you have to do is SAVE the file to DXF then open it again...when you open, the educational plot remove automatially. Just try this solution.
nestly Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Could you explain the situation? Are you using an Educational Version of AutoCAD? Is this a work file that was created with a commercial license and you don't know how it became tagged with the Eductional version? Is it a drawing someone else gave you? Is it a file you downloaded? Did you download/insert blocks from an unknown source? In all of the above situations except the 1st, someone had to click "OK" at least twice to a warning such as the one below.
nidhi singhania Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 No , actually, i have asked 2 things in here: 1) I got a file from someone with a layout to modify it .Now when i tried to take a print out, i noticed the above said problem. 2)Like Autocad has protected the files , no one can actually take a print out without the ' Produced By.......' . So , can I do something of this sort, if incase i have to hand my files to someone else!!
nidhi singhania Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 acadesign09, i will surely try this trick and will get back to you.
acadesign09 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 acadesign09, i will surely try this trick and will get back to you. Try that, already tested by me... Sequences: 1. Open the file with Educational Stamp 2. Click SAVE AS 3. Save to any DXF file 4. Open the saved DXF Now, educational stamp gone....enjoy it
nestly Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Yes, and your encouraging the violation of the End User License agreement and facilitating the abuse of the Autodesk Educational program.
nidhi singhania Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Well now that is something out of our reach......

This is not meant to be used as a permanent workaround. CadTutor does not endorse the use of educational software for commercial purposes. Persons using educational software commercially should be reported to Autodesk.
nestly Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 This should only be used in cases of emergency where you have received files from an outside source. Clearly that's the case here, but it's still illegal to incorporate content authored in EDU versions into commercial drawings, thus the plotstamp. thus the EULA. If it's a legitimate "mistake" Autodesk will assist in removing the stamp. There is no indication in this case that it's anything other mis-use of the EDU program. "Someone" sent the OP a drawing, and the OP ignored the popup warnings, and want's to use the drawing anyway... By leaving this topic unedited, Cadtutor is in fact encouraging, if not endorsing the mis-use of the EDU program as it makes it easier for anyone one else searching here or via Google to defeat the EDU security features.

JD Mather Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 The action described here is illegal and unethical. Period! Emergency is no excuse. Ignorance of intellectual property law is no excuse.
JD Mather Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Well now that is something out of our reach...... Not out of your reach. Simply don't use. Any attempt to remove the mark is a violation of your EULA. Any commercial use of the work is a violation of your EULA. Contact your VAR for legal solution to your problem.

Persons using educational software commercially should be reported to Autodesk. It is a "permanent" workaround, In a previous post by the OP (now deleted) the OP asked if content in the fixed file could now be copied to additional drawings. If that's not permanent incorporation of EDU created content, I don't know what is. Leaving the detailed instructions for anyone to use or misuse without regard for how the plotstamp became an issue is inexcusable, and no different than allowing detailed instructions how re-activate EDU software as Commercial without obtaining the proper license.
