Oxygen454 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I have been searching everywhere and also trying to make a 3D horse on Swift 3D but have come up empty handed. It has to be a red horse but how can I find one or make one? Oxy Quote
PS_Port Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Try these http://www.archibase.net/download/15983.html http://www.archibase.net/download/14190.html http://www.archibase.net/download/106.html Quote
Oxygen454 Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 Sweet, do you open these in swift 3D? Quote
PS_Port Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I have not tried those exact files, but usually the files from there are .3ds format packed up (zipped) in a .rar file. the .3ds files can be imported straight into autocad, but im am unsure how you would get them into swift, what formats does swift support/import ? Oxygen454 Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 Oh sweet, I didnt know this was autocad. I know autocad better than this swift. It looks like it runs on a file extension of .td3. It does import .dxf and .dxb which says its all autocad.... Im going to try cad first... thank-you! Oxy Quote
Oxygen454 Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 He is a little rough square looking, how do I smoothen him up and maybe even add a horse hair texture? I imported it into Swift 3D with a CAD dxf file and it looks smoother but I would rather use CAD because I dont know swift lol. Quote
Oxygen454 Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 I imported this one http://www.archibase.net/download/15983.html but the fur and other textures dont load. Is there something wrong? Quote
Cad64 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 It's in .3ds format correct? When models are saved in .3ds format, materials are discarded. You will have to apply your own materials. Quote
Oxygen454 Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 Where can you find "fur" textures and how do you apply them? This stuff is really interesting. Quote
Cad64 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Have you checked the "Good Sites for Free Materials" thread in the 3D Modeling & Rendering section? I've never used Swift, so I have no idea how to apply materials to models in that program. HERE is a tutorial on materials in Autocad 2004. Quote
Oxygen454 Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 Sweet thats cool, Im working on how to attach bitmaps Thanks! Quote
