DODGE Posted September 9, 2011 Author Posted September 9, 2011 OK I will answer my own question, I think it must be beeroclock. I was typing UPLOAD just realised it's APPLOAD Sorry Guys. AVAGOODWEEKEND Dodge Quote
DODGE Posted September 9, 2011 Author Posted September 9, 2011 OK Take all that back. I have just typed APPLOAD and loaded my numbering lisp. It says Lisp loaded succesfully. When I type NUM to use lisp it says unknown command, hit F1 for help. I have been using this lisp for years using the same command, what have I done wrong. Dodge Quote
mdbdesign Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Is your lisp on Autocad search path? Quote
Sittingbull Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 OK Take all that back.I have just typed APPLOAD and loaded my numbering lisp. It says Lisp loaded succesfully. Dodge iff you want it to load everytime you start acad: go to tools, applications, startup suite... Iff you need it just from time to time: Put it in a search path and at the command prompt type: (load"yourapp") Regards, SB Quote
DODGE Posted September 10, 2011 Author Posted September 10, 2011 Is your lisp on Autocad search path? Thanks for your help. How do I put it in the search path. Can you give me step by step. I just tried sittingbull answer and went to tools applications etc etc and it loaded ok. But next time I started Autocad it was gone and I had to do the process again. I need it there all the time without having to load it every time I boot up Autocad. Thanks Guys Dodge Quote
mdbdesign Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Ok, start with http://www.ellenfinkelstein.com/acadblog/access-related-files-with-the-search-paths/ Then when you need it to run every time you start Autocad: Tools>Load application...>Contents...(button under little briefcase)> Add...-select anything suppoerted by Autocad: Lisp, arx etc. Next time you run Autocad it be in it. Hope it help. Quote
BlackBox Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Or you could just add a LOAD statement to ACADDOC.lsp (a user defined file). This is a much better option than the Startup Suite IMO. Quote
mdbdesign Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I think DODGE just start customization adventure (if he is not joking). In this case is better start form begining. Quote
DODGE Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 Thanks Guys for all the help. I have tried all the above except for Rendermans suggestion. I will just load num lisp each time I load AutoCad. Thanks Dodge Quote
DODGE Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 OK Guys Must have done it correctly, it's all working now. Each time I start up Acad the numbering lisp is there. Thanks Again all. Dodge Quote
BlackBox Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 FWIW - ACADDOC.lsp (being user defined), can be customized to one's liking. This file is built into the startup sequence such that if found within the Support File Search Paths (SFSP), it is automagically loaded into AutoCAD for each drawing opened, whereas ACAD.lsp (also a user defined file built into the startup sequence) is loaded once per session at application startup (by default). Using ACADDOC.lsp is one commonly used method for easily supporting multiple versions of AutoCAD, if not simplifying one's transition to an upgraded version. I can provide more information if you're interested. Cheers! Quote
