Alignment - major station labeling

i created a very simple center line alignment with a station every 100 feet, which labels correctly, however i cannot seem to place any sort of tick mark at the location of the station on the center line. that is, the stations are positioned and labeled correctly at 1+00, 2+00, etc, but there is no mark actually on the line.

 

any ideas?

under the label style composer i needed to create a Tick.1, and assign a block to it. that was buried.
