Im trying to draw a reach on a trailer in 3D but I dont know how to shrink the channel and to align to the middle of the reference line I drew. I want to have both channels come from the pivot point of the outside of the trailer (as I have shown) come together at the end of the reference line I made.

Not sure I understand what you want, clearly but if you are trying to cut the end of your channel off you could "slice" it at the desired point... ohh your on 2004, not sure if 2004 had slice but I think it did,....

Here is the file with what I thought you meant, if I'm on the wrong track, sorry.... I cut the drawbar and copied it..

That was close, I just want the reach to touch the end of that line instead of the middle. How did you do that? lol

maybe you mean like this.... I rotated the front channel using points, to the end of your line then sliced it off using your line as the cutting edge.

Sweet thats it! I tried to rotate it like that but it was all over the place but I kinda think I know how you did that now. As for the other side I can just mirror the one you just fixed correct?

yea, just mirror it, try to rotate it your self though, it's real easy once oyu get the hang of it....

ROTATE> pick base point>

hit R ( for reference)

select the ends of your channel>

hit P ( for points) and select it's starting and ending point...

you'll get it.

I'm done for today...

Just to update, thanks GhostRider, those commands worked perfect. I tried those commands to build the reach myself and it worked out perfect!
