JoeTony Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 (edited) Hi all I just wanted to post to let you know there is a great new AutoCAD plugin called the Terrain Tool by LLandSoft. It can do many of the things the Civil 3D can do, such as create surfaces, contour lines, cross sections, gradient analysis, sun shading, etc. I am a landscape architect and I have to say it has greatly increased my productivity and design ability. KJB Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I just downloaded the Terrain Tool Help and that didn't open properly so I'm leery already. Quote
acadesign09 Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 That's great...I wanna have that also...since our main focus is landscape designing now.. Quote
JLittle Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Dear KJB, I am a developer for Terrain Tool. Our goal is to create high quality, cost effective software for the landscape architectural profession. I see from your post that you had a problem opening the Terrain Tool Help. Is it possible that you could give me more information on the problem you had opening this file? I have tried opening this file on multiple systems with different OS and it always opens fine. Thank you, Kind regards, Joseph Little Quote
f700es Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Thanks for the offer Joseph, I like it when developers really try to help users. Welcome to the forum as well Sean Quote
Cad64 Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Hmmmmm, it seems that Mr. JoeTony and Mr. JLittle have the same IP address. Isn't that interesting. Quote
f700es Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Well, what a shame. I take back what I said then. There is a right way to honestly plug your app and there is this way. I have no problem with someone try to push their app but making a fake call for help just to push it is pretty lame. Maybe we need to make this an offense for banning? Quote
KJB Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Everything in the help file results as shown. Quote
Cad64 Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Maybe we need to make this an offense for banning? I would like for JoeTony/JLittle to come clean and admit what he's up to. If you want to notify us about your program and let us know you exist, that's fine, but don't pretend that you're a landscape architect and you're just here to help out your fellow CAD brothers when you're really just a salesman trying to get some free publicity for your software. Because that will get you banned. So, how about a little honesty? Quote
Squirltech Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Maybe we need to make this an offense for banning? I like it. Just sayin'. Hmmmmm, it seems that Mr. JoeTony and Mr. JLittle have the same IP address. Isn't that interesting. Very... Quote
JLittle Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Dear Cad64, Yes I do admit that JoeTony and JLittle are both me, Joseph Little. I apologize if I broke the forums rules. It was not my intention to deceive. The reason that I created the JoeTony account is to let people know how the terrain plugin can help them. I have erased all post that I have made by JoeTony and will not use that account again. I have also added an introduction to myself, and you will see that I am a fully qualified and registered landscape architect. I am also a software developer and the principle to LLandSoft! Once again I apologize to the people on the forum! Kind regards Joseph Little Quote
f700es Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Thanks Joe, this does help. Welcome to the forum. Quote
Cad64 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Thanks for the explanation. And yes, please just stick with the one account. I'm a landscape architect also. Not licensed, but I've been doing it for 8 years. I do a lot of 3D visualizations for our projects, but I use 3D Studio Max, which has a pretty decent terrain surface generator, but that's all it does. It generates a surface over my imported CAD contours. It looks like your program has some very useful functionality. I watched the video and I like how you can easily sculpt and reshape the terrain and then cut cross sections and it all updates dynamically on the fly. That's pretty impressive. One of these days, when I have some free time, I'll have to download the trial version. Quote
