dustbear Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 when u push your center mouse wheel... what happens? Nothing happens when I push the center mouse wheel. Isnt your mouse plug and play?i once had the same problem when i installed the driver of the mouse to add its other features but it screwed up my zoom and pan function so i uninstalled it. maybe the problem is with the generic driver you were talkin about? Yes, it is plug and play. I (me and my hubby) uninstalled the Microsoft driver, then rebooted the computer and let the computer install a generic driver (hence plug and play, so there were no "other features"). I do have the driver for the mouse on a disk, but thought we'd try the generic driver instead. Quote
nocturne00 Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Hmmm, perhaps thats a hardware problem, have you tried the mouse on other computers? Quote
dustbear Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I switched to another Microsoft mouse, changed the wheel button to autoscroll and it worked! This is called a "Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical USB & PS/2 Compatible". I just unplugged the Optical 3000 mouse from the usb port and plugged in the basic mouse, and then the computer recognized the new mouse. Please note: I had already tried the autoscroll and several other choices on the Optical 3000 mouse to no avail. Thanks to all for your help. PS. the zoom still works just fine. Quote
nocturne00 Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 errr i dont know how we really helped, but we're glad it worked for you. maybe the mouse was the problem to start with in the first place. Cheers Quote
dustbear Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 maybe the mouse was the problem to start with in the first place. It's weird, they are both Microsoft mouses operating off the same software, as I only uninstalled the driver not the software. go figure. Quote
EMS_0525 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Could someone provide some more help... i just got a wireless 4 button microsoft laser mouse 5000, i use the left additional button for delete, saves a ton of time, but i cant get the wheel to pan. Quote
EMS_0525 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I got it to kinda work... if i click the wheel, and wait like 2 seconds it changes to the pan "hand"... anyone know whats up with the long delay? Quote
sumeetppatel Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 If your zoom limit is over and still you need to zoom. type z, you'll get some zooming options. out of that the option scale could be used. write .5 or .2 something, u'll be able to go further. u can directly do so by writing the scale after typing z also. for panning there's exclusive command pan. after typing pan u can pan with left click, just as dragging in simple terms. i hope u can get you're way.. best of luck.
