I am using AutoCAD Plant 3D 2011. I generally use osmode 55, but every time I pick a line or element from the "smart" tool palette, my snaps change on their own. The nearest snap always turns itself on :x Is there anyway to fix this to keep the snaps the way I set them and not have them change on me? I have never experienced this problem on any other software before.

Thanks for your help in advance,

So what do you mean by "smart" tool palette? Sometimes lisp routines can change the osmode settings. I created a command button that sets my osmode to what I like and put it on my toolbar. Now I can reset my osmode quickly.

I am using a tool palette that has lines styles for pipe, smart valves, smart equipment etc. All of the components have attributes associated with them so you can export out line lists, equipment lists etc into autocad.

How did you create a command button?

There are several AutoCAD/LISP commands that override Osnaps, I just Shift+Right-Click and select the snap I want.

I find that everytime I use an element from my tool palette, my snaps change. So, I think it is more of a programming issue to get them to not switch and stay how I choose. For instance, if I pick a primary line segment and try to place a line, I cannot pick an endpoint snap unless I shift click and then select my snap, which is a pain in the butt. This happens even if I check the box for endpoint in the snap settings prior to choosing the primary line segment.
