thegodplato Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Hi, when I create a shape and fill it in for a colour ( so I can send it to a screen printer to be put on our product ), I get an issue with DN-P-2726.dwg. Any ideas why. I was trying to recreate the part being painted red, so the screen printer overlays with the black and grey. Quote
SLW210 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 What are you trying to plot? What exactly is the issue? What printer/driver are you using? What are your plot settings? Does it preview properly? Quote
thegodplato Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 Whoops, my mistake for not explaining myself properly. By screen print, I mean the action of printing something onto another part - in this case, its a steel section that is having the black and grey stripes printed onto it as well as the number and circle. When you look at the attached drawing the red bit ( which is replicating the colour of the painted steel section before the stripes are added ) won't go around the circle or the ends of the stripes. It leaves a rectangle around the circle. It is that bit that I am confused about. Quote
SLW210 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Is this what you are after? THe circle had a Z elevation. Quote
thegodplato Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 Thanks, thats it. I have only drawn this in 2D so why is there a Z elevation. How did you do it? I'm also finding that when I try to hatch sometimes it comes up with the red circles showing where the shape isn't complete yet the profile has to be because the error point was two lines that I'd previously trimmed. Anyway, more importantly, am I doing something wrong with the solid hatch? Quote
SLW210 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Not really, just double check what you have for boundaries. Practice, Practice, Practice. Quote
nestly Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 It leaves a rectangle around the circle. It is that bit that I am confused about. The rectangle that's not being hatched is a boundary around the Text object. If you move the text away temporarily, or put the text on it's own layer and freeze it while hatching, you shouldn't have any trouble. Quote
Dana W Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Once you have the Z elev ironed out, check how your hatch treats "ISLAND DETECTION". Normally, you want hatching to NOT overlay dimension or note text, thus the island of empty space. In Hatch Edit, select the way you want that island to appear by changing your Island detection check box(s). Select the particular hatch in question, right click, select Hatch Edit, change your Island option. Quote
