Architecture software

I am not even sure if something like this exists, but here goes. We have 3 C3D licences in our office but have a need for a basic software program for other people to do floor plans, driveways etc. We are looking for a cheap ($100 or so) version that will be able to handle that and a couple of other things. We have used APEX in the past but it is not scalable. We went to DaVinci but importing the APEX drawings into DaVinci doesn't work. Lines missing etc. IT has asked me to look for something that would allow us to import APEX & DaVinci and have the ability to scale the final product. Yes I have GOOGLED different software but I thought someone out there might have done something like this already. I appreciate any feedback you may have.

What file types do each of these program allow you to open and import as well?

the APEX has AX2 AX3 & AX4 (different versions use different types)

DaVinci uses .dsk

Sorry but I've never heard of any of those file types. Those seem like native formats. They cannot import dxf files for instance?

Why didn't you use programs that were compatible with your AutoDesk product(s)?

What types of programs are APEX and DaVinci?

They are architecural programs. I am using C3D. I do not have either APEX or DaVinci on my computer so am not sure if they can import dxf files. I will ask. IT says they tried these because they were told they would be compatible to our main office program (Megabyte) which is an assessment program used in a few counties in California. Apparently, the scaling issue is very important. My department works with roads, lots etc. which does not have to integrate with Megabyte. Obviously, Acad could do the job but budget cuts.........

Everybody needs to get on the same page because it seems you have quite the mess there. If these programs cannot exchange information easily you end up wasting time and money looking for a solution.

APEX - DaVinci - Civil 3D and Megabyte

Makes me glad I only work with one program.

I believe DaVinci is an offshoot of this parent company. It is very possible that what I am looking for does not exist. Any suggestions for an Architectural program that allows scaling the drawings to paper would be appreciated. Thanks
