WodMarsden Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Is it possible for me to plot 2 pdf plots side by side on to A1 as we have no A2 paper ? Quote
irneb Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 This could usually be handled by your printer's driver. If not Acrobat Reader has a setting in its print dialog under Page Scaling called "Multiple pages per sheet". Then you can specify how many pages per sheet below that. Unfortunately it just does a scale-to-fit, so you usually end up with the scales being slightly smaller than they should due to the page bleed margins. Of course you need to have the pages combined into one PDF file to get this though. For that I'd simply print the PDF's to my PDFCreator printer and combine them there, otherwise if you have full Acrobat you can add PDF files into one another (or there should also be some PDF merge / combine utilities - just google). WodMarsden Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 i have done that, the problem i have is a want 2 plots of the same pdf on A1 Quote
irneb Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 If the PDF contains more than one page, then a "trick" you can do is to fool Acrobat in believing there is really 2 pages. In the print dialog's "Print Range" group, select the "Pages" option and enter the page you want to duplicate twice (separate with comma). If your PDF only contains one single page, then follow the same principle as I've shown about combining pages. Print the PDF page twice to the PDFCreator (or whatever one you use) then select its combine option to make a 2 page PDF. Then in Actrobat you can simply print both those pages on one sheet. Are you sure your printer doesn't have such setting in its driver? Most large format printers would at least have a combine option. If you can find such it would be a lot simpler. Quote
BIGAL Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Another possibility is, as your printing on a plotter A1 size it may have the option NESTING this auto fills a sheet with plots A1=2xA2 our HP does. Quote
irneb Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Exactly what I was thinking of about the driver doing the combine. I think that nesting is done inside the printer though. Sorry, last time I used a HP was 10 years ago, never missed them ... not even while using the cheapest printer I ever used (a CadJet). Come to think of it, even that had nesting on printer as well as combine on driver. So I can hardly believe the OP's printer can't do this. Quote
