bjenk8100 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Hello, I am beginning to get much better at the 3d modeling however I have been having some problems w/ organization. I am drawing multiple details and it is kind of annoying having more than one object rotating around at same time during free orbit. Is the best way to avoid this to just move it out of the screen view. I was thinking about model viewports but both objects still go into the new viewport. Quote
bjenk8100 Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 to be more clear, my biggest problem is it is harder to free spin object with more than one object in the drawing. Quote
SLW210 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 If you select the object prior to orbiting, it should only show the selected object while orbiting. Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 You are correct, the problem is partly related to organization. In my case what I do is create objects on their own layer and freeze/thaw turn off/on layers as needed. Now, I'm on an older version (r14) but I do have a more recent DwgTrueView. I'm guessing the full blown AutoCAD has a similar device (not sure what it's called "Object browser, navigator?") that shows a tree of the AutoCAD objects. From that tree you can hide show individual objects (or invert the hide/show). Quote
bjenk8100 Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 I forgot about that feature, tnx. Im finding drawing everything in the same planes is the way to go. Quote
